Hotel Owners
Over the years, the Mayflower Park Hotel has been privileged to be a participant in the major and minor events of people’s lives. To our guests, many of whom have returned to us time and time again, we are deeply indebted.

Welcome to Mayflower Park

A hotel is about people. Over the years, the Mayflower Park Hotel has been privileged to be a participant in the major and minor events of people’s lives. It has been a privilege to be caretakers of this lovely and very special hotel for the past 48 years. These years have brought us much satisfaction and joy, and we are dedicated to the tradition of making the Mayflower Park Hotel, “Quite Simply, One of a Kind.”

Historic Mayflower Park Hotel Celebrates 96 Years

Mayflower Park Hotel came to being on July 16th, 1927 and is celebrating 96 years as a Seattle historic gem. Throughout the 96 years, our boutique hotel has been managed by local owners and still is to this day. We invite Seattleites and tourists alike to join us in celebration, not only of our history but our continued community involvement in Seattle!

We look forward to seeing guests from near and far during this special time. When staying with us, we invite you to stop by our fourth avenue entrance where you will find a historic picture gallery.  Also, our very own book, ‘Seattle’s Mayflower Park Hotel’, is a tribute to Seattle, the hotel and local owners, Birney and Marie Dempcy and available to purchase at the front desk.

Environmental Values

The Mayflower Park Hotel has been a long standing establishment within the Seattle community since 1927. For many years, we have put our personal attention towards conserving the environment. We have always scrutinized all departments in our operations to minimize our waste and negative impact on earth. Every little bit has helped, from recycling our paper to using local produce in our restaurant. And the fact that our hotel is 96 years old means our ‘carbon footprint’ is very small in the day and age of the ever-expansive development of new hotels.

Our goals for the future include using our environmental management plan to guide our efforts to continually reduce the impact our hotel operation has on the environment. We will also focus on sharing our commitment with our guests through the Mayflower Park Hotel website and other forms of communication. And lastly, our community involvement with other green organizations will help us spread knowledge and power on how to keep the earth clean.

The Mayflower Park Hotel’s environmental focuses include the following:

  • Water and Energy Conservation:
Retrofitted lighting and compact fluorescent light bulbs. Low flow water systems for toilets, showers and faucets.
  • Cleaning Supplies and Guestrooms:
Ecolab is our preferred cleaning supply vendor.  They are the global leader in water, hygiene and infection prevention solutions and services that protect people and vital resources.  To learn more, please click Ecolab. Volunteer linen reuse program noted in all guestrooms. All guestrooms have been non-smoking since 2003.
  • Entire Hotel:
All departments have participated in our garbage recycling program since 1997. The entire hotel, including Oliver’s Lounge, has been non-smoking since 2005. The hotel provides public transportation subsidies for all employees. The hotel offers flexible schedules to cut down on congestion and idle exhaust.
  • Food and Beverage Department:
Locally based vendors are used to support the local economy and cut down on gasoline consumption. Organic based ingredients are used in our restaurant, Andaluca.
