We are so proud of where we work! The Mayflower Park Hotel is giving back to the community it has been a part of for nearly 90 years. To kick start the hotels 90th Anniversary, the staff is holding a donation drive for the YWCA’s Opportunity Place. This housing complex offers a comprehensive response to homelessness as well as employment services and health care programs. They have over 150 apartment units. The donation drive runs through May 5th and we are donating household items for the apartments: kitchen utensils, toasters, coffee makers, pillows, linens, bath mats, etc. Books and board games are also requested. Just two blocks away from the Mayflower Park Hotel, Cinerama is thrilled to present its 70mm Film Festival, taking place between Friday, Sept. 9 and Monday, Sept. 19, and includes titles such as Apocalypse Now, The Sound of Music, Aliens, and Patton. The Seattle Cinerama opened in 1963 as Seattle’s Martin Cinerama as a showcase for the eponymous technology, but was retrofitted a few months later to also show 70mm films on its huge curved screen. Grab some popcorn and enjoy the show!
